Steve Gutmann is senior commercialization manager for EcoSecurities, a leading international developer of carbon
offsets (certified emissions reductions under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism, as well as verified
emissions reductions for pre-compliance and voluntary buyers). Mr. Gutmann’s main responsibilities include selling
offsets to voluntary and pre-compliance buyers in the U.S., and assisting with sales to compliance buyers in Japan.
Before joining EcoSecurities, Mr. Gutmann was national sales manager for Flexcar (now Zipcar), the self-service,
by-the-hour car-sharing company. He also served as an analyst and commercial loan officer at ShoreBank Pacific, a
commercial energy-efficiency consultant, a freelance travel writer, and a high school teacher. He earned his BA degree
from Dartmouth College.

of 12 Entrepreneuring, Inc., and senior vice president of strategic planning at Atari, Inc. Mr. Hagel is the author of a
series of bestselling business books, including Net Gain, Net Worth, Out of the Box, and The Only Sustainable Edge.
