Pradeep Khosla was previously founding director of the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems, and program
manager at DARPA, where he managed a $50 million portfolio of programs in real-time systems, Internet-enabled
software infrastructure, intelligent systems, and distributed systems. Recipient of several awards, including the ASEE
1999 George Westinghouse award for Education, the Siliconindia Leadership award for Excellence in Academics and
Technology in 2000, the W. Wallace McDowell award from IEEE Computer Society in 2001, and Cyber Education
Award from the Business Software Alliance (2007), he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2006
and is an IEEE fellow. Prof. Khosla’s research has resulted in three books and more than 300 articles in journals,
conferences, and book contributions. He is also a consultant to several companies and venture capitalists, and
currently serves on several advisory boards, including iNetworks, ITU Ventures, iPolicy Networks, BitArmor, and
Alcoa CIO’s advisory board.
Kay Kienast
Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President
Avocent Corp.
Kay Kienast is an executive with more than 25 years of marketing, channel, OEM, product management, and executive
leadership experience in the B2B, B2C, and channel markets. As Avocent’s chief marketing officer, she is the principal
architect in redefining the company’s strategic direction in the technology marketplace and leads a global organization
with annual revenues in excess of $600 million. She also oversees business relationships with the major server
manufacturers (OEMs) and top VARs and distributors with which Avocent partners. Before joining Avocent earlier
this year, Ms. Kienast led the strategic marketing effort for some of the industry’s most innovative and successful
product and services companies, including CDW, Dell Inc., Digital Equipment Corp., and Verizon. In 2007, she was
recognized as an industry leader in the CRN magazine article “One of the 50 Most Powerful Women in the Channel.”
Ms. Kienast holds a doctor of education degree from East Texas State University.
herbert Kim

Codeworks
Herbert Kim leads Codeworks, a U.K.-based digital media technology services developer and incubator. The
Codeworks development program is focused primarily on Internet video. Codeworks is the commercial representative
of Vitalas, a $10 million European research consortium seeking to develop new solutions in video search. Codeworks
is also the commercial representative of MetaIndex, a $3 million U.K. research consortium developing software to
manage community-generated metadata for video archives. Codeworks manages the Northern Centre for Digitization
& Encoding, which is seeking to develop superior commercial solutions for the digitization of archival video content.
Since Codeworks’ founding in 2003, it has spun out six digital technology commercial ventures. Mr. Kim was named
as one of the U.K.’s top 100 figures in new media by the country’s leading digital media trade journal. Before his
current role, he was head of marketing for Source O2, the U.K. incubator division of Telefonica O2 Europe.
harel Kodesh

Amdocs Inc.
Harel Kodesh currently serves as chief product officer for Amdocs, one of the world’s largest providers of IT systems
for the telecommunications world. He is responsible for Amdocs’ product lineup. Before joining Amdocs, Mr. Kodesh
was CEO of Wingcast, a joint venture between Ford Motor Co. and Qualcomm that developed a worldwide telemetric
solution. Before that, until 2000, he held a variety of executive positions at Microsoft Corp., most recently as vice
president of the Mobility Division, where he founded the Windows Mobile Group and led the development and
marketing of the company’s wide-ranging mobility efforts. Mr. Kodesh served on the board of Mobilitec Inc. (sold
to Lucent), and is currently chairman of Xeround (a data-grid company) and a director of Dream Box Learning (an
educational software company). He holds a B.Sc. degree in computer engineering and a M.Sc. degree in electrical
engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
