URSULA M. BURNS
Chairman and CEO, Xerox Corp.
Ursula Burns joined Xerox in 1980 as a mechanical engineering summer intern and later assumed roles in
product development and planning. She led several business teams from 1992 to 2000, when she was named
senior vice president, corporate strategic services. She then took on the broader role of leading Xerox’s global
research as well as product development, marketing, and delivery. In 2007, Ms. Burns was named president
of Xerox, expanding her leadership to include the company’s IT organization, corporate strategy, human
resources, corporate marketing, and global accounts. At that time, she was also elected a director of Xerox.
She was named CEO in 2009 and chairman earlier this year. In addition to the Xerox board, she is a director
of American Express Corp. Ms. Burns was named by President Obama to help lead the White House national
program on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in 2009 and was appointed vice chair of the
President’s Export Council in 2010.
LISE BUYER
Founding Principal, Class V Group
Lise Buyer is the founding principal of the Class V Group, an organization providing strategic and logistical
guidance to companies contemplating an IPO or an exit via an M&A transaction. Previously, Ms. Buyer
was the director of business optimization for Google Inc., where she was one of the chief architects of the
company’s innovative IPO and a recipient of a Google Founders Award. Through early 2000, she was director
of the Internet and New Media Research Group for Credit Suisse, where the quality of her research was
ranked No. 1 by Greenwich Associates. Earlier Ms. Buyer was a vice president at T. Rowe Price, where she was
responsible for the firm’s investments in desktop technology. She served as the lead independent director
on the board of Greenfield Online until it was acquired by Microsoft. Ms. Buyer is a past fellow of the World
Economic Forum in Davos.
SHIVONNE BYRNE
Director, Global Executive Programs, Microsoft Corp.
Shivonne Byrne, a tenured global marketing leader, has helped build trusted brands and leadership positions
for world-class organizations and powerhouse startups such as Microsoft, Apple, KPMG, Visio, August Capital
and their portfolio companies, The Learning Co., Positively For Kids, Aldus, Wall Data, and Atheros. At Microsoft,
Ms. Byrne is director, global executive programs, and formerly was a WW director, brand and content.
Previously she was partner and general manager at Regis McKenna Inc., chief marketing officer at Innuity,
COO of the Washington Technology Industry Association, president of Creative Fusions LLC, and vice president
of marketing at Visio. Ms. Byrne is a well-known business and marketing strategist; brand, positioning, and
content expert; relationship marketer; community builder; digital-social media practitioner; initiative leader;
and creative director, writer, and speaker. She is a graduate of Stanford University.
CHRIS CAPOSSELA
Senior Vice President, Business Division, Microsoft Corp.
Chris Capossela is a senior vice president in the Microsoft Business Division, where he is responsible for
marketing the company’s productivity products that include Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Exchange, Office
Communications Server, Project, Visio, and Duet. His responsibilities include defining pricing, packaging, go-to-markets, branding, and advertising, as well as developing sales integration and the partner ecosystem. Mr.
Capossela has served more than 18 years at Microsoft in a variety of marketing, technical, and field positions.
His experiences include running the Microsoft Project business, serving as Bill Gates’ speech assistant,
and acting as chief of staff to the president of Microsoft EMEA. Mr. Capossela holds a bachelor’s degree in
computer science and economics from Harvard University. He first became interested in computers when, as
a boy, he wrote a reservation system for his family’s small Italian restaurant in Boston using dBASE for DOS on
an early IBM PC.
