JOHN HAGEL III
Co-chairman, Center for the Edge, Deloitte LLP
John Hagel has some 30 years’ experience as a management consultant, author, speaker, and entrepreneur,
and has helped companies improve their performance by effectively applying information technology to
reshape business strategies. He is currently co-chairman of the Silicon Valley-based Deloitte LLP Center for the
Edge, which conducts original research and develops substantive points of view for new corporate growth.
Before joining Deloitte, Mr. Hagel was an independent consultant and writer. Before that, he was with leading
consulting firms and companies. From 1984 to 2000, he was a principal at McKinsey & Company, where he
was a leader of the Strategy Practice. He also founded and led McKinsey’s Electronic Commerce Practice from
1993 to 2000. Mr. Hagel served as senior vice president of strategic planning at Atari, Inc., and earlier worked at
Boston Consulting Group. Author of a series of bestselling business books (Net Gain, Net Worth, Out of the Box,
and The Only Sustainable Edge), he has won two awards from Harvard Business Review.

Jay Hallberg co-founded Spiceworks in 2006 to simplify the management of technology for the world’s small
and midsize businesses. The Spiceworks user community has grown to more than one million IT professionals
worldwide, earning it a reputation as the Facebook for IT. The company’s reach into 20% of the global SMB
market is transforming how technology products are managed, marketed, and sold. Mr. Hallberg frequently
speaks on advertising-based business models, B2B social marketing, and SMB IT trends at top industry events,
including the IAB, Cloud Computing Expo, and and Web 2.0 Summit. His commentary has also appeared in top
publications, such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Investor’s Business Daily. Mr. Hallberg holds
an MBA from Harvard and an engineering degree from the University of Illinois.

Hammerling is a director of Keep a Child Alive, which provides care and support for orphans, as well as food
and love for all those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
SHAWN HARDIN
Chief Executive Officer, Flock
Shawn Hardin is the CEO of Flock, a consumer Internet business that develops and markets a free web browser
optimized for social media users and anyone seeking to better manage online information and relationships.
Before joining Flock, Mr. Hardin was Yahoo’s head of youth, health, and games. In this role he oversaw the
strategic direction, product and programming, and business operations serving 30 million unique users and
driving 2. 3 billion minutes of monthly engagement. Before Yahoo, Mr. Hardin was the senior vice president for
broadband product and programming at America Online, and earlier served seven years with NBC and NBC
Internet as executive vice president, chief product officer, and group general manager.
