MIKE VOLPI

Mike Volpi, who joined Index Ventures in 2009, is a partner in the London office where he focuses on
investments in the Internet, telecom/networking, and media sectors. He also contributes to the firm’s later-stage growth fund. Mr. Volpi began his career at Hewlett-Packard’s Optoelectronics Division. He moved to
Cisco Systems, where he was senior vice president and general manager of the Routing and Service Provider
Technology Group and led Cisco’s business for the service provider market; he was also responsible for the
company’s routing and access products, an $11 billion business for Cisco in 2007. As the company’s chief
strategy officer, he was responsible as well for Cisco’s business development, strategic alliances, advanced
Internet projects, legal services, and government affairs. In this role, he was instrumental in creating acquisition
and investment strategies that allowed Cisco to acquire more than 70 companies during this time. Most
recently, Mr. Volpi was the CEO of Joost, an innovator of premium video services delivered over the Internet.

CEO and Co-founder, UkuMi
Tom Wala is the CEO and co-founder of UkuMi, based in Austin, Texas. UkuMi revolutionizes digital advertising
by blending its highly engaging social apps with its patent-pending “trust-based” display advertising
platform, which has leapfrogged industry standard display advertising engagement and CTR performance.
UkuMi works exclusively with Fortune 100 brands, top retailers, and the largest digital agencies to deliver
meaningful campaign messages to content publishers, social networks, and media companies, helping them
to monetize more effectively. Before founding UkuMi, Mr. Wala was responsible for the global transformation
at Dell, which has been referred to in business publications as “Dell’s Second Web Revolution” and featured
in Fortune. Mr. Wala holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an MS ME degree from the
MIT School of Engineering.
JIAN SHUO WANG
Chief Executive Officer, Baixing.com
Jian Shuo Wang is the CEO of Baixing.com, the leading online classified ad service in China. Founded in 2005,
the site operates in 340 cities in China and helps people find jobs, houses, secondhand goods, and services.
Before Baixing, Mr. Wang served Microsoft’s China office for six years as an engineer and consultant. He
graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and lives in Shanghai.
CASEY WASSERMAN
Chairman and CEO, Wasserman Media Group
Casey Wasserman, since founding Wasserman Media Group in 2002, has built the company into a powerhouse
in the world of sports and entertainment through world-leading athlete management, sales, and corporate
consulting businesses. Dedicated to philanthropy, Mr. Wasserman is president and CEO of the Wasserman
Foundation, his family’s private charitable organization. He also serves on the boards of New York University,
Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, William Jefferson Clinton Presidential
Library Foundation, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Most recently Mr. Wasserman extended his company’s
leadership position and expertise into India, creating the company’s newest overseas office as a significant
hub for its operations across Asia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wasserman purchased the Los Angeles Avengers,
then part of the Arena Football League (AFL). During the successful decade-long run of the Avengers, Mr.
Wasserman, who was the youngest owner ever of a professional sports team, was elected league chairman and
sat on the executive committee.
